Born in Chicago, Illinois, Robert Derick, M.D. received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame and medical school degree from the University of Illionis College of Medicine. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the Ohio State University Hospitals in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Derick completed a Glaucoma Fellowship at John Hopkins University Wilmer Eye Institute in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Derick has conducted glaucoma research and clinical services at the Ohio State University for ten years prior to joining Columbus Ophthalmology Associates in March of 2000. His specialties include glaucoma surgery and consultation, small incision cataract surgery and general ophthalmology. He lectures and presents glaucoma patient case studies throughout the Midwest to other ophthalmologists and optometrists.
Dr. Derick is currently conducting many research projects for major ophthalmic pharmaceutical companies.
