Refractive Surgery

CustomLASIK

CustomLASIK

In order to undergo a refractive procedure, a patient’s ophthalmologist must determine the amount of refractive error a patient is experiencing to determine how the cornea must be reshaped.  With the advancement of technology, it is now possible to create a 3D map of the patient’s eye to display even the slightest imperfection, similar to a person’s fingerprint.  This map is created and the data collected by Wavefront technology.  The map is transferred directly to the laser resulting in higher levels of precision and treatment accuracy.

CustomLASIK is performed as an outpatient procedure that requires approximately 10 minutes per eye.  Due to the precision and accuracy of the procedure, patients have a greater chance of having 20/20 vision.  There are fewer incidences of glare and halos, with the potential of better overall vision, even at night.  In addition, the potential exists for patients to have better vision than is possible with glasses or contacts.
