As we look forward to the first day of spring, I want to reassure everyone that we at Columbus Ophthalmology Associates continue to keep everyone’s health and safety at the forefront of everything we do. At this time, all of our doctors and almost all of our staff have been vaccinated. And, we continue to observe all CDC, Ohio Department of Health, and American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) recommendations to mitigate the transmission of COVID-19.
Some of the steps we’re taking:
In our waiting rooms, waiting times are limited, seating is spaced widely apart, and we thoroughly sanitize these areas with cleaning procedures. Likewise, we limit the movement of patients once they are in our exam rooms or receiving specialized testing. After every patient, we clean each piece of equipment thoroughly. At our offices, we also take health history and temperatures. We will continue to practice all of these safety measures and more until there are changes in recommended safety protocols from governing agencies, like the CDC or AAO.
During this trying time, we thank you for your continued understanding and confidence in our practice. Fortunately, for the most vulnerable among our patient population, our medical colleagues tell us how effective vaccines have been, and that they are seeing dramatic drops in the number of new infections and hospitalizations. At COA, we are thankful to continue safely delivering the care you deserve—we hope to see you soon!
